What can I use dkcam for?

Turn an old or spare phone into a free wireless camera: a baby monitor, pet cam, doorway or desk security camera, or a second camera angle. Point the phone where you want to watch and open the link on any other device.

Is the video recorded or uploaded to a server?

No. dkcam opens a direct browser-to-browser connection (a WebRTC media connection) between the camera and the viewer. The video streams straight across that connection. Only a tiny connection handshake passes through a public signalling broker — the video itself never touches a server and nothing is stored.

Can more than one device watch the camera?

Yes. Anyone you send the link to can open it, and the camera streams to each viewer at once. The camera tab must stay open and the screen awake while it's live.

Can I switch between the front and back camera?

Yes. Tap Flip to switch between the back and front cameras without dropping any viewer, and toggle the microphone on or off at any time.

The video goes directly between the two devices and is not stored anywhere. WebRTC media is encrypted in transit (DTLS/SRTP). dkcam itself is a static site with no backend, and only someone with your link can connect.
