Privacy Policy
fqvid is a browser-based video trimmer and YouTube batch uploader operated by yarimati. This policy describes what fqvid does — and does not do — with your data.
1. Summary
- fqvid runs entirely in your browser. Your video files are not uploaded to any server operated by yarimati.
- The only outbound video traffic is the optional, user-initiated upload from your browser directly to YouTube via the official YouTube Data API v3.
- We do not have user accounts, do not store personal data on our servers, and do not sell or share any data with third parties.
2. Video Files
When you drop video files into fqvid they are processed locally in your browser using FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. The trimmed output remains in your browser memory until you download it to disk or upload it to YouTube. fqvid does not transmit your video files to yarimati or any third party other than YouTube (and only when you explicitly click upload).
3. YouTube / Google Account Data
Connecting your YouTube account is optional. If you choose to connect, fqvid uses
Google Identity Services to obtain an OAuth 2.0 access token with the
youtube.upload and youtube.readonly scopes. The token is
held in your browser tab's memory for the lifetime of the session and is sent
directly from your browser to Google's APIs to:
- Read your channel name and handle so the app can confirm which account is connected.
- Upload videos you have trimmed, with the title, description, visibility, and made-for-kids settings you have entered.
The access token is never transmitted to a yarimati server. When you sign out or close the tab, the token is discarded. You can revoke fqvid's access at any time from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
4. YouTube API Services
fqvid's use of information received from YouTube APIs complies with the YouTube API Services Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. By using the YouTube connect feature in fqvid you are also agreeing to the YouTube Terms of Service.
5. Analytics
fqvid loads Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first, cookie-less analytics product. It records aggregate page-load metrics (referrer, country, browser, anonymised IP) without setting any cookies and without building cross-site identifiers. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
6. Cookies and Local Storage
fqvid does not set tracking cookies. It uses
localStorage in your browser only to relay the OAuth callback between
tabs after sign-in; that entry contains the access token described above and is
not transmitted off your device.
7. Children
fqvid is not directed at children under 13. The made-for-kids toggle in the uploader simply forwards your selection to YouTube's API; YouTube applies the relevant restrictions on its side.
8. Changes
If this policy changes materially the effective date above will be updated. The authoritative copy lives at yarimati.com/fqvid/privacy.html.
