Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of fqvid, a browser-based video trimmer and YouTube batch uploader operated by yarimati ("we", "us"). By using fqvid you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use fqvid.
1. The Service
fqvid lets you trim local video files in your browser using FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly and optionally upload the trimmed output to your own YouTube channel via the YouTube Data API v3. fqvid does not store your videos or your account credentials on any server we operate.
2. Your Content
- You retain all rights to the video files you process with fqvid. We claim no ownership over your content.
- You are solely responsible for the videos you trim and upload, including ensuring you have the rights to the source material and that the content complies with applicable laws and the destination platform's policies.
- We do not pre-screen, host, or moderate your content. If you upload to YouTube, YouTube's own policies and moderation apply.
3. YouTube and Google Accounts
The YouTube connect feature uses Google Identity Services and the YouTube Data API. By using it you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and acknowledge the Google Privacy Policy. You may revoke fqvid's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use fqvid to:
- Process or upload content that infringes intellectual property rights, violates privacy rights, or is otherwise unlawful.
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer for malicious purposes, or interfere with the service or the infrastructure it runs on.
- Bypass quotas, rate limits, or other technical controls of the YouTube Data API or any other third-party service accessed through fqvid.
- Use the service in a manner that violates the YouTube API Services Terms of Service or any applicable Google policies.
5. Availability
fqvid is provided free of charge on a best-effort basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without notice. Browser-side functionality requires features such as SharedArrayBuffer and the YouTube Data API to remain available; we are not responsible for changes upstream that affect fqvid.
6. No Warranty
fqvid is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that trimmed output will be free of artefacts.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, yarimati shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, revenue, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of fqvid. Because fqvid is free and runs entirely in your browser, in no event shall our aggregate liability exceed one hundred US dollars (USD 100).
8. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless yarimati from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of content you process or upload through fqvid or your violation of these terms.
9. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date above will be updated and the authoritative copy will always live at yarimati.com/fqvid/terms.html. Continued use of fqvid after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of your country of residence to the extent required by mandatory consumer-protection rules, and otherwise without reference to conflict-of-laws principles.
